Choosing the location

A shop that simply fits in a space isn't enough. The best location suits your guests: they see it often, on the way to where they're already going. We use these guidelines when we look at your hotel together.

Start from your guests' touchpoints

The places every guest passes, in order of priority:

  1. Elevators: where guests start their journey.
  2. Entrance: often the first thing guests see.
  3. Reception: guests pass it often, which keeps the shop top of mind.
  4. Food & beverage: near your restaurant or bar, the shop is a natural convenience stop.

Visible from several touchpoints

High-traffic hotelsAt least three guest touchpoints
Medium-traffic hotelsAt least two guest touchpoints

A shop that guests only see from one place is easily overlooked and gets fewer visits.

Good to know

  • A location on the first floor usually limits visibility and accessibility.
  • The shop needs power and a wired internet connection at the chosen spot. See Preparing your site.
  • Walking routes to the entrance, elevators, reception and restaurant stay free, and there's room for wheelchairs between the units.
